This will be my second year going to Nicaragua with YTGB. I was born and raised in Regina, SK, but this will be my 5th year teaching in Yorkton. I currently teach grade 8 at Columbia School.
I helped start YTGB because a couple of teachers and myself wanted to live by the message we teach in our classes. I am constantly trying to promote global citizenship in my classroom. I think that now, more than ever we need to work together on both local and global scales to make our world a better place.
I know that I am extremely privileged. I know that there are people who are struggling both in my community and around the world. I want to ensure that I am constantly aware of the privilege I have and always do what I can to help others. This goal is what help drives my involvement with YTGB, my school, and my community.
